We are extremely obliged to our esteemed board members, who have been constantly guiding us and supporting us to stand where we are. Each one of them have contributed with all their might ensuring the flawless execution of the  centre. Their experience and guidance is a valued asset.

The members meet on a regular basis and discuss on several agendas and reforms benefiting the Centre. The board members are eminent individuals from diverse sectors and backgrounds.

Mr. Ajai Malhotra

In the year 2017 he was appointed an Independent Director of ONGC, Videsh
Limited and in the same year he was elected to the Advisory Committee of the  United Nations Human Rights Council , Geneva.
Since April 2014 he is a Distinguished Fellow & Senior Adviser (Climate Change) at  The Energy and Resources Institute , New Delhi. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the  World Economy and International Relations  Journal at the  Institute of World Economy and International Relations , Moscow. Since 2015, he is Chairman of the Managing Committee of the NAB India, Centre for Blind Women & Disability Studies. 

He play an important role in policy making, review of policies and ensuring the legalities of running the organization as per its vision and mission and ensuring all policies are in place for better transparency and credibility. 

PVSM AVSM Lt. Gen. Chander Kapur(Retd.),

Lt. Genl. C. Kapur is a double graduate in Economics and Political Science from Delhi University. He was commissioned in Indian Army in 1960 and retired as Lt. General in 1995.  He had a glorious career in Indian security as `Operations head  in sensitive areas like Jammu & Kashmeer and North Eastern states during his tenure.

Lt. Genl. C. Kapur has been an expert on `India China relation and is an author of the book `Chinese India Armed forces in 1996.

Ever since Lt. Genl. C. Kapur, has been associated with NAB India Centre for Blind Women & Disability Stusies, he has been providing us guidance in policy framework. He is a member of HR committee for employees welfare and fund raising initiatives.

 

Mr. Manjit Singh Sawhney

Noted Rotarian and Past Rotary International Governor,

Mr. Sawhaney  has served  IQ India Ltd as the chairman. He was also the Director of Alpha Remedies Ltd. He also held the position of  Marketing Director  for Kadkade Sales Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Sawhaney had been in Business for the past 40 year in Exports of Garments and Automobile Parts, Marketing of Mining and Tunneling Equipment, Manufacture of bulk Drugs-(Paracetamol), Information Technology (Product Development).

With his experience he has been observing the policy matters and heading the finance committee for financial approvals of the organisation.

Ms. Pamela Bhandari

Retired Chief Commissioner-Income Tax,

With her expertise and efficiency she has been leading the way for the centre on policy and financial matters, budgetary control and HR Policies.

Ms. Pamela Bhandari firmly believes, that lack of sight should no longer remain a handicap for the visually impaired in leading an independent, productive and happy life.

The Centre, aspires to train and equip the visually impaired women to become physically, financially and emotionally self –reliant. We want them to experience the joy of living, the pleasure of pursuing their ambitions, the satisfaction of accomplishment and the contentment of a wholesome, meaningful and dignified existence.

Ms. Anita Goyal

Social Worker, Great Grand-daughter of freedom fighter-Late Lala Lajpat Rai,

Ms. Anita Goyal belongs to the family of freedom fighter `Lt. Sh. Lala Lajpat Rai”, from her father’s side, being his great grand daughter. She by profession is an artist and a social worker by passion.

She has been associated with Servants Of the People’s Society.,Lajpat Bhawan.ND. She has also trained large number of blind girls and boys, for call centre employability, in soft skills,laundry, toilet training,social manners and grooming.

Ms. Anita works as an honorary faculty member for Personality development of blind youth since 2004 at NAB India, Centre for Blind Women & Disability Studies. Ms. Anita has been constantly managing Hostel Administration, Inventory control and students welfare. She ensures each and every need of the trainees is taken care of be it medical or casual.

She envisions to see every blind girl be able to sustain herself, and be a part of the society.

Mrs. Shalini Khanna Sodhi

The existence of the Centre comes into being with the determination of Ms Shalini Khanna.  The overall running of the organization, Organisational development and envisioning of new programmes for the upliftment of blind women, effective execution and implementation of the trust decisions and programmes.

Mr. Ramesh Batra

Structural Engineer/Past joint Secy-NAB-R.K. Puram, Delhi,

Mr. Ramesh Batra studied Mechanical Engineering from Europe way back in early 1960. He extended his expertise to various companies  there on the subject for 20 years continuously before he came back to India in late 1970.He took over the full charge of his business of import of electrical equipments under the name`Udai Electrical Equipment Company for around 30 years.

Mr. Batra has been supporting us on technical and infrastructural measures along with fund raising initiatives. He has been associated with `NAB India, Centre For Blind Women & Disability Studies since inception in 2002 as an integral member on board.

Mr. Batra has been an active philanthropist since long time. Their family was a pioneer in establishing state branch of National Association For The Blind in R.K. Puram  in 1990 to undertake the activities of providing education to blind students with residential capacity.

Bhupal Singh

Mr. Bhupal Singh

Mr Bhupal Singh an Electrical Engineer with 43 years experience in building construction and maintenance, is also a Chartered Engineer and a Certified Energy Auditor. He has been guiding on energy conservation matters, contractors invoices and work.

He aims at Knowledge Management & monitoring on building construction/augmentation, property condition assessment, property maintenance, monitor electricity, water and fuel consumption for the centre. He also focuses on safety and environment aspects of the Centre. He also helps us to compile audible content for students & visual content for staff.

Mrs. Sulochna Mansi

Social Worker and Chairperson-Manthan Society for promotion of Art & Culture,

Mrs. Sulochana Mansi is the founder and chairperson of ‘Manthan’, a non profit
organization for promotion of art and culture- a renowned organization in India,
having over 600 members. She is Vice Chairperson of Matrichaaya, Siliguri, West Bengal – an organization committed to the upliftment of weaker sections of society and involved in many
charitable ventures.

Mrs. Mansi is a true philanthropist by heart who earnestly wants to provide an
opportunity for higher education for every girl and for every adult, the dignity of self-
reliance and she has a burning desire to give back to society. She has conducted
various camps like eye awareness, blood donation, family planning and many more at different place all over Delhi since the past 25 years. She has organized several community weddings and weddings of blind couples also.

She has been equally contributing to the Centre by guiding and promoting cultural and arts activities for the blind women and youth, also supporting for weddings for the blind youth.

Ms. Madhu Nagpal

Philanthropist and Journalist,
Member

Ms. Madhu Nagpal, Besides being the dictrict chairperson for Inner Wheel Clubs of Delhi NCR, she is also the president of RWA of her locality. She is also part of many organisations working for various causes like organ donation, sensitization about hearing impaired though sign language. Her exposure in the field of disability is through sponsorship programmes for visually Impaired  and hearing impaired.

Previously Ms. Madhu was a journalist and used to write for the magazine ‘Voice of America’.

Ms. Madhu has been playing a key role in advising the Centre in the disability sector and funding related areas.
